The Story behind Dlala Rugs
Long before Moroccan rugs found their place in homes around the world, they began their journey in the vibrant rug souks of Marrakech. At the heart of this was the “Dlala” — the traditional Berber auction where handmade rugs were presented one by one before merchants from across Morocco. More than a marketplace, the dlala was a daily ritual. It was where generations of weavers, traders and collectors met, where craftsmanship was recognized, and where every rug found its value through knowledge, experience and trust.
